It’s always good to play to the home crowd so the band were delighted to be invited to play in Hexham as part of the Abbey Festival again. A bright and breezy day saw us entertaining the crowds in the hustle and bustle of the market place with tunes from James Bond, various North Eastern folk tunes, 633 Squadron and Anything Goes amongst others. While one half of the band basked in the sunshine and the other shivered in the shade the gusts of wind tested the integrity of the pegs holding our music in place and the band played on. Eventually we made our Great Escape and the group of happy shoppers showed their appreciation with applause. Thanks to the organisers of the Festival and hopefully we’ll be back next year.
